Stage play is adapted from the manga 'Mahou Sensei Negima!' published in Shounan Magazine's weekly magazine from 2003 ~ 2012. 'Mahou Sensei Negima!' is a popular work that has been adapted into anime, drama and games.
In her first post-graduation stage play, Ikoma will play Negi Springfield / Negi-Sensei, a 10-year-old magic boy who became one of the homeroom ladies in a special junior high school to become a great wizard. This will be Ikoma's first challenge as a boy.
On the reason Ikoma chose to play this character, the production staff expressed, "Ikoma-san's charm is unique, she is favored by both men and women, the right person for Negi-sensei character who is naive but loved by the people around her."
Playing in this stage play, Ikoma commented, "I think this will be an important turning point for me, however I am filled with the feeling of wanting to do my best." Regarding the role of the 10-year-old boy she will play, smiling Ikoma commented, "My confidence is 120%, I can become Negi-kun and will not lose to anyone."
'Mahou Sensei Negima! ~ Okochama Sensei wa Shugyouchuu! ' will be staged starting July 12, 2018 at AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo.
