The 2nd Generation Audition of NGT48 was held in collaboration with the Niigata regional government and became the first time held in AKB48 Group. The audition was attended by 4,100 applicants and the final audition was held at Niigata-City Performing Arts Center on April 28th. Niigata Mayor Shinoda Akira also participated as a judge.
Of the 16 members, 7 members are from Niigata. In addition there are also members who came from prefectures that had not previously existed in the NGT48 of Hokkaido, Yamagata, Ibaraki, Gunma and Shizuoka.
