Just like last year's 'Unit Janken', each member of AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, HKT48, NGT48 and STU48 can consult each other and form a unit as they see fit, and the members can specify the name and number of members. For members who want to participate solo than the unit, can register as a solo unit. Each member is only allowed to join in one unit.
The initial match will be held in a handshake event at Makuhari from 10 ~ 12 August 2018.

Number of units that can compete in the main competition:
Solo unit: 4 slots
Unit with 2 members: 26 slots
Unit with 3 members: 10 slots
Unit with 4 members: 3 slots
Unit with 5 members: 2 slots
Unit with 6 members: 1 slot
Units with 7 ~ 9 members: 1 slot
Unit with 10 members: 1 slot
※ Total there will be 48 units to be formed.
